Grenada

1983

Operation Urgent Fury

In 1983, a revolution on a small Caribbean nation is further fueled by an industrial accident that brings out the worst in those affected. The United States invades to restore order, and confronts an unexpected enemy.

The Unit

Ranger units pre-date the founding of the United States of America. While they have occupied many different forms over their history, the Rangers have always maintained a core set of principles: stay light, move fast, and strike with devastating violence.

After the Vietnam War, the separate Ranger companies of the time were combined to form the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger). Between 1974 and 1984 these battalions represented the Ranger lineage with distinction until their expansion into the modern 75th Ranger Regiment.

The Location

The breathtaking island of Grenada is a tropical paradise in the Caribbean Sea. A beautiful culture of friendly people and customs is host to scores of medical students from the United States.

A bloody coup by communist interests draws the ire of the United States and Carribean allies, and precipitates a military invasion to restore order and rescue those students.

The Enemy

In the background of this unrest, a preventable accident caused by corporate misdeed adds another sinister layer to the quickly unraveling disaster. An ancient compound has been rediscovered and exploited for financial gain, leading to the creation of a bizarre and violent group of hostiles.
